The agricultural sector contains the largest economic activities in the Municipality, employing 65.9 percent of the labour force. It is concentrated in the rural communities.
The department has the following, but not limited to, assigned responsibilities:
1. The department of food and agriculture is responsible for the monitoring of agricultural activities in the Municipality.
2. Enhance farmers skills on new and improved methods of production.
3. Collaborate with the Central Administration in the oragnization of the National Farmers Day and Award hardworking farmer during the celebration.
It is only by our hands that we can build this continent to the standard that we envy and admire in the advanced countries
